The Asian branch of the Oakland Public library has a vast library of Chinese books your children can borrow to practice reading.

They have books with BOPOMOFO (ZHUYIN) and other books with PINYIN.
If you want books with Traditional script (which Hanwen School teaches) with PINYIN, look for books published in Hong Kong.
